Chris Holroyd, an apprentice at Jack Lunn (Construction) Ltd, has scooped a top industry honour at a prestigious award ceremony held at Leeds Town Hall. The Leeds College of Building Awards showcase the most talented individuals across the college's intake and Chris secured the top award within the highly contested Brickwork category.
The awards recognise achievement and commitment over the academic year and are highly regarded within the construction industry. Andrew Lunn, Construction Director at Pudsey-based Jack Lunn (Construction) Ltd, commented: "We are extremely proud that Chris has been recognised for his achievements in brickwork - he is a really talented lad and has a fantastic career ahead of him".
Mr Lunn continued "Since the company was established by my grandfather in 1949, we have placed major emphasis on training and development within the business and have actively supported apprentices in their endeavours. We take on several new apprentices every year within the brickwork and joinery trades and remain committed to recruiting people from the local area. Our aim is to develop their skills and offer rapid career advancement as they progress through college, whilst they are putting their training into practice on site and of course getting paid."
