Jack Lunn Construction has been awarded a high profile design and build project to deliver a major new distribution warehouse for The Card Factory, which will provide 3,300 sq m of prime industrial and office space adding to the existing 6,100 sq m distribution warehouse facility.
Jack Lunn Construction has commenced work at The Gate 3 Building which is adjoined by industrial buildings and residential facilities. The existing distribution warehouse will be in continuous use throughout the duration of the works and Jack Lunn Construction has carefully scheduled the project programme to avoid any disruption to the client’s operations.
The extension includes 300 sq m of office and staff welfare accommodation located on the first and second floors. Three new dock levellers and a level access platform will be constructed along the facade of the building. New pedestrian links will be introduced within the party wall.
The entire development is to be over clad with profiled metal cladding, new trims and flashings to achieve a continuity design. A new 7.3m wide service road will also be constructed as part of the scheme.
Procured under a JCT Design and Build Contract, the new facility is anticipated to be completed by December 2010.
