Jack Lunn (Construction) Ltd was commissioned to expand the medical centre, which is now four times its original size. The original building was demolished and the new build two-storey premises now occupy 883 sq metres. Facilities include consultation rooms, staff room, treatment rooms, surgery units, nurses rooms, a training room, primary care trust offices, library and a pharmacy.
External walls were constructed of pitched-face artificial stone with cast stone details. All internal partition walls are constructed in concrete with a plaster finish. Steel beams and columns support the upper floor and roof which is of pitched roof construction with timber roof trusses and finished with dark grey concrete tiles. Main entrance doors are automatic for disabled assistance. Construction included a reception with disabled and confidentiality sections.
