This project involved the complete refurbishment of, and an extension to, a hospice in Leeds. The hospice was transformed with a new reception area, a purpose-built gift shop, an information centre, individual extra-care suites with balconies, a coffee shop, and a staff and visitor dining area.
A larger, better-equipped library was built to facilitate the research of the nursing and medical care staff and provided refurbished, more efficiently placed offices for clinical staff.
The existing mortuary was refurbished to include four pods of 16 body freezers, a mortuary lift, reception areas, waiting areas and private viewing rooms.
External features included hard and soft landscaping encompassing paving paths, trees, relaxing areas and wooded areas.
