This scheme was secured through competitive tendering and is the fifth scheme awarded to Jack Lunn (Construction) Ltd by this social housing company. The build comprised a traditional brick and block construction of 47 dwellings, with a mixture of social and affordable housing. The new development provides 27 three, four and five bedroomed houses and 20 one, two and three bedroomed self contained flats. The new housing caters for families in needs of temporary accommodation and support. It includes children’s play facilities, communal areas, a training room and a garden area.
The scheme is built on a brownfield site and is bounded by low and high rise residential properties, shops, public house, businesses, public roads and footpaths.
The scheme includes two lifts and is ECO Homes compliant including the use of Infra Red Thermography, Air Pressue Testing, Compact Fluorescent Lighting and the use of materials with a global warming potential of less than five and the buildings utilise a rainwater harvesting system.
Walls are constructed from recycled artstone with self coloured dark and grey render, artstone dentil course to entrance and garden elevations, the roofs are concrete tile and leaded/protan dormers with coloured UPVC doors and dark grey UPVC windows.
